Campaign 6 : Bickering Factions

This island is plagued by internal political struggles. You will need to make sure the one thing they agree on is that you should be Presidente. Or use guns.

Primary Objectives


You will be asked several times to choose between two factions. Each time you do, you will get a Faction Disaster from the faction you did not choose. You will need to bring up your faction standing in order to fix the Disaster. Choices are :

Communists VS. Capitalists
Militarists VS. Intellectualists
Environmentalists VS. Religious
Nationalists VS. Loyalists

(Communist) National Agenda : Agriculture - Have at least 30 Farmers.
>>> 10,000$
Faction Disaster : 20% reduction in export prices.
Sugar & Corn can be planted efficiently nearby. You'll need at least 5 Farms, since each can employ 6 Farmers. The Food for the People and Social Security edicts should be enough to tackle the Faction Disaster. Once you complete the task, Moreno will complain that you are trying to enslave your people, and more rebels will appear on your island.

(Capitalist) National Agenda : Tourism - Have a Tourist Dock and 3 Hotels, Motels or Luxury Hotels
>>> 15,000$
Faction Disaster : New rebels.
The Food for the People and Social Security edicts should be enough to tackle the Faction Disaster. Once you complete the task, Moreno will complain that you are trying to enslave your people, and more rebels will appear on your island.


(Militaristic) Santa Teresa Expands its Standing Army - Have 12 Soldiers or Generals
>>> Temporary +50 respect of Soldiers & Generals.
Faction Disaster : students can no longer graduate.
Build a Grade School and High School.

(Intellectualist) Search for Extra-Tropican Intelligence - Have 5 Radar Dishes
>>> 15,000$
Faction Disaster : ???
The total cost of this operation is of 28,000$, but you can set the radar dishes to bring you some cash over the rest of the mission.


(Religious) A Monument to our Faith - Build a Statue of Christ the Savior
>>> Permanent +20 standing with the Religious faction.
Faction Disaster : ???

(Environmentalist) Santa Teresa goes Green - Build 3 Garbage Dumps and one Horticulture Station
>>> +30 Tourism Rating.
Faction Disaster : visitors to churches and cathedrals will lose respect for you.
Fits in well with the Capitalist path.


(Nationalist) How I Learned to Stop Worrying - Build a Nuclear Program
>>> Free Armory
Faction Disaster : Loyalists will slowly leave the faction.
This is very costly and less useful compared to the Loyalist mission.

(Loyalist) The Beloved Leader and Teacher of the Tropican People - Build a Mausoleum
>>> 20 High-school educated loyalists will join your Island.
Faction Disaster : Riots and dead immigrants.


The Ultimate Showdown - Fight off the last Rebel Attack !
>>>
Win the Game.
Spend away and make as big an army as you possibly can.



Secondary Objectives

Who Rebels the Rebels - Establish a Secret Police and hire 3 Secret Agents.
>>> 20,000$ to Swiss Bank Account
You should probably get a secret police anyway. You will find out that someone outside of Tropico is the source of the high level of rebellion...

New Army Base - Build an Army Base
>>> 20,000$ to Swiss Bank Account
Build it. You'll need it.

Prepare for the Rebel Attack
>>> 500$ to your Swiss Bank Account
You can use the Conscription edict, have a few Army Bases / Armories for generals, and stockpile on Guard Stations. You should be able to manage 25,000 to your SBA.

Other notes :
- Frequent rebel attacks mean you will need a decent army.
- You will need a strong economy to withstand all of the capricious demands of your factions. I suggest either Sugar & Rum or heavy Tourism.
- Don't hesitate to abuse the Amnesty edict in order to counter the Rebel threat.
